I'll post this to your friend's page too...

Looking to sing & play at the same time? Then something relatively simple from the much-maligned genre... 'Lucky Man' from the first Emerson, Lake & Palmer album, or 'And You And I' by Yes... though maybe not all of it... it's about 10 minutes long!

Something a bit heavier? '46 & 2' by Tool... or delve into Dream Theater if you dare (or can stand the overblown virtuosity & pretension). Maybe a version of 'No Quarter' by Led Zeppelin ~ not strictly Prog, but not exactly rock'n'roll either

If you're just singing & the band is relatively together, test them out with '21st Century Schizoid Man' by King Crimson... & make sure they can all play the fast parts in unison... or try 'In The Cage' by Genesis to make the keyboard player sweat a little

All Prog bands need something a little ridiculous in instrumentation ~ Jon Anderson's harp, Ian Anderson (no relation) playing flute on one leg (maybe it's something about the surname Anderson), Rick Wakeman's caped costumes or Keith Emerson's knives-out- approach to the Hammond organ... So maybe do a hurdy-gurdy rendition of 'Owner Of A Lonely Heart' to stand out from the crowd...
