waitingmanAnd so... in a bit of a turn-up for the usually serious...ish book that this Journal has become of late... or is that just me?... And Now For Something Completely Different...
A Man With Three Buttocks
No... Actually it's a piece of Fash-Mag fluff regarding the cult of Miranda Kerr's Celebrity that inexplicably resonated with me, given the usual attacks of fawning & falling-over-ourselves most people have when confronted by the genetically blessed, as if being beautiful means being touched by your god-of-choice with all the other divine attributes as well - like genius intelligence... except that it's been repeatedly shown to be complete & utter stool-juice - just cast your mind back to Elle Macpherson's (in)famous quote defending her home's empty bookshelves with "... I don't think you should read anything you didn't write yourself"... or words to that effect...
As a member of the Senior-end of Generation X, I admittedly have a... soft... spot for Elle & am about 33% willing to believe she was paraphrased, or 'misquoted' at the time, but it does serve to highlight the 10 Commandment-style importance we place on the slightest utterance from the rich & fatuous in these all-too-shallow days of relentless arse-water dressed up as advice for self-improvement.
And is it just me... & my Senior-end membership of Gen X... or do Miranda & Orlando Bloom seem like a perfect couple - provided they don't have to actually talk to each other (or anyone else) about anything except movies, modelling & magazine coverage???????
