1. Where is the most beautiful nature in your area?
There's a walking trail on the headland where I live. Not only does it offer wonderful views of Sydney Harbour & out to the ocean, but there are several sites with Aboriginal rock carvings & plenty of local wildlife... usually disappearing into the bushes as you tramp past, but not always!

2. Does your household grow some of its own food?
We try to keep a herb garden going, but any attempt at growing actual produce is thwarted by the aforementioned wildlife, who get into back yards & gardens & think lemons, oranges & carrots are delicious. Funny how they never attack the chilli trees...

3. Do you recycle or repurpose a lot, a little, or somewhere in between?
We recycle as much as practical & have a compost bin/worm farm in the back garden

4. What do you think the most endangered part of the Earth is?
Other than the atmosphere? Low-lying islands in the South Pacific, our own Great Barrier Reef, the Amazon rainforest, the polar ice shelves, wildlife habitats in Asia...

5. What is the single best way for an individual to help the environment?
Don't be an unthinking, uncaring fuckwit
waitingman: (WorkHouse)
Stricter lockdown regulations mean that I'm having an enforced 2 weeks (at least!!) off from work. No 'non-essential' building works are allowed, which certainly means flooring installations & therefore means no measures, estimates or inspections for me. I've just spoken with the CEO of the company I contract to & he's closing all the stores 'til the end of July... or until this outbreak runs its course

I was out doing what's turned out to be my last measure for the month this morning & so was most of the Northern Beaches population. I have never seen so many people out walking, running, playing... even on a Saturday. It goes to show why gyms are such a growth industry - we're certainly seeing now just how many people usually do all their exercise indoors...

Sydney... for the foreseeable future:-
