Return Of The Friday Five
Mar. 27th, 2021 10:33 amNot sure what happened to last week's... didn't see it somehow. So - this week is all about a USA tradition that doesn't really happen down here, but let's see
1) What spring holiday(s) do you celebrate?
Spring in Australia, arrives in September & the only Public Holiday that hits around that time is Labour Day - one of those Holidays that occurs at different times in different States. In New South Wales, it's usually the first Monday in October. For the past couple of decades, I've celebrated it by being at work, as it's not really one of those Holidays that resonate with the general public. Who knows this year?
2) How do you celebrate it?
Fittingly, I'm usually, begrudgingly, at work. No matter the rest of the populace's opinion, I'll take any Public Holiday I can get. Not that you get very many in the Sales industry...
3) How was your celebration different in 2020 and/or 2021?
This year, I may still be my own Boss in September. If so, maybe I'll reward myself with the day off
4) What special foods do you make or acquire for your spring holiday?
None, really. In the age of the supermarket, you can get anything, anytime - there's no such thing as seasonal produce any more, so nothing stands out as being special...
5) Is there special music for your spring holiday?
If Spring marks the start of the Australian outdoor barbecue season, then it would be time to bust out the Australian rock classics...
