Work, No Rest & Play
Nov. 23rd, 2020 10:05 pm3/4s through a 4 day stretch at work... oh how I suffer - I don't usually do more than 3 days in a row before one of my weekend days off, so to do 4 consecutive days is a bit of a rude shock - even though it happens every fortnight
Driving around in a rented ute at the moment, as the one I normally drive has had another major failure - this time its transmission has given up the ghost & the Boss still won't commit to buying a replacement, instead still talking about getting the old one repaired, registered & back on the road for me to nurse through to the next crisis. If it's brake failure next time, remember me... & remember I mentioned it here
A recording session over the weekend with the other Pelican Daughter, starting work on track 4 of the sometime-to-be-released new album & continuing the trend of not playing guitar at all. This time it was combining 3 field recordings we'd made, creating a rhythm track I then played some cajon over, then added some bass. Now it's over to my cohort to wrestle the track into some kind of shape, before we meet again to do some mixes & edits. As I've mentioned before, he's far more adept at the technical aspects of music creation than I am... I just show up with interesting things to make noises with
So to celebrate the gradual return of Pelican Daughters...
Things are taking off...
