............

If you want to get involved in a high-speed chase with the California Police, pray they come after you in their Tesla... Apparently 'someone' forgot to plug it in the night before...

That's the excuse I use when my phone runs out of charge... or I just don't want to answer it right now. Good to see it will work for electric cars in the future when I'm late for, or completely absent from, work!

Police in the State of Victoria, here in Australia, are trialling a Tesla as well. Maybe I'll head down there while I still have OBluV8 & give them a run for my money

Oddities

While 'researching' music for my previous entry, this song popped into my head...

And it reminded me of the glory days of Sydney radio station 2JJ - who went national on FM a few years later as 2JJJ - but back in their first few years, they were the first station to not only play obscure gems from the past like the Allman Brothers, Kraftwerk, Yes, King Crimson, Jean-Michel Jarré, but also new bands like the Police, Dire Straits, Elvis Costello, B52s, Ramones, Talking Heads, Cold Chisel, Radio Birdman, Midnight Oil... who would all go on to be staples of the commercial FM stations after 2JJ had first championed them. In fact, there are a couple of FM stations who built their entire playlist around those bands from the late 70s/early 80s & are still playing them, to the exclusion of anything new - including anything new from those bands. They like the old stuff better than the new stuff, which should be their station slogan...

Anyway, in between providing me with a hell of a music education, 2JJ used to throw in little oddities like the one above, as well as things like:-

Candidate for the best band name ever

A suburban Australian classic

... And the first song that 2JJ ever played... which was officially banned from the airwaves at the time
