Oct. 19th, 2018 09:51 pmA minor roller coaster of a week... No great highs or lows, but quite a ride
I'm getting used to the 5.30am starts 3 days a week for sessions with my Personal Strainer-in-Training. I'm not feeling anywhere near as stiff, sore, or sorry as I was last week. Still pretty tired though!!
Work was, by turns, uneventful, chaotic, then uneventful again. At least the majority of the chaos was resolved & I finished the week by landing a decent project - meaning I can turn up on Monday without apprehension
L-SP & I attended the awards ceremony today for a photography competition I entered. The competition was sponsored by the State Department of Mental Health & its theme was 'My Happy Place'. Unfortunately, the photos had to have been taken in the last 12 months, so I couldn't use this one...

And so, for something completely different - apart from the sunrise, I chose this one...

For someone who hates getting up early, I have a lot of photos taken at sunrise...
No, I didn't win. Nor did I come 2nd, or 3rd... I did get a commendation, but so did a lot of others, so it felt a little like a participation award - like you'd get at the school athletics carnival when you came last in the egg & spoon race. At least the Head of the Department singled out my photo for praise during his speech...
The quality of photography was pretty high, so I shouldn't be too hard on myself. At least I was a finalist. L-SP & I have decided we'll both enter next year...
