Tool... Work
May. 4th, 2013 01:06 pmHome late last night... okay, it was some time this morning, after seeing Tool at the smaller of the two Enormo-Domes out at Homebush
A great show ~ my third time seeing them & it gets more 'spectacular' each time. The first time was in a small-ish venue & it was pretty much the band, some spotlights & that was it. Next time was in a giant echoey bunker known as the 'Sydney Entertainment Centre' & there were more lights & video screens. This time, take the previous two & add lasers, smoke machines, extra lights & backdrop screens & a pretty impressive sound-mix for an Enormo-Dome. The only odd thing was their choice of support act ~ a DJ who wasn't so much an entertainment as an interruption. He was cheered loudly when he left the stage after an anonymous & uninspiring half hour of beats & bleeps played to a sea of black t-shirts & jeans. Nice of him to tailor his act to his audience...
Then to work this morning for my third Saturday in a row... except it wasn't. My co-worker for whom I'd covered last week came in, thinking we'd just swapped weeks I'd planned to save the day for when I needed it, but whatthehell, I came home. We're out again this evening, so a lazy Saturday probably wouldn't hurt
