The Searcher
Oct. 26th, 2012 09:25 amWell, I have finally crossed a threshold of sorts... at the still-not-quite-ripe old age of forty five, I now need glasses for reading
My long-sight is, to quote the optometrist, "excellent", but I'd noticed on the trip across America, that reading small print was becoming a problem. At first I put it down to tired eyes after eight hours driving... or maybe bad light in the restaurant or wherever, but it was pretty apparent really that things were not as they once had been. So while on the road, I bought a pair of those glasses you find at service stations or supermarkets for $5. I found that just the smallest magnification was enough (Strength 1) & it turns out that's what the optometrist says I need ~ only a proper prescription pair, not the Wal-Mart product
So... Dame Edna?? Elton John?? Or Jarvis Cocker??
At least I can still see things like this quite clearly...

A tip of the Stetson hat to John Wayne's best film...
