So... Last Night We...
Jan. 28th, 2012 10:56 pm... went to see these guys...
... at the Hordern Pavilion. When we arrived, the crowd waiting outside was dressed to the EmoGoth hilt & seemed to consist of nobody over the age of 18 ~ an observation reinforced later when the audience singalongs were all sung very high-pitched... as if Justin Bieber had dyed his hair black & raided a costume store at Halloween.
Great show, great band... lots of killer hard-rock/goth/electro tunes, but one of the most insipid, bland & downright wimpy sound-mixes I've ever heard at the Hordern... or anywhere else for that matter. It just never seemed powerful enough to really hammer the songs home. Even their Slashwannabe lead guitarist was struggling to cut through the shallow murk.
Still... quibbling aside, it was a lot of fun & great to finally see them after their cancelled tour a couple of years ago...
