Taking The Cure
Aug. 10th, 2007 10:14 amActually, more like the antidote to the Cure.
For those of us unlucky enough to have endured the miring sludge that was the last Cure tour in Australia, in support of the BloodFlowers album, last night was the complete opposite.
A good sound mix from the 2nd song onwards ~ not an easy thing to do in the Sydney EntCent ~ & a great selection of songs from all over the last few decades (Has it really been that long?!).
Fascination St, A Night Like This, Primary, In Between Days, A Forest... the only favourite of mine they didn't play was A Letter To Elise. SarinG was pleased by the inclusion of Wrong Number, although my sister was disappointed by LoveCats absence. Robert was in a pretty good mood & his voice has actually improved... rounding out his high tones without losing the range. It was also fun to hear him sing about being the Stranger "... killing a Mormon.", instead of a member of a slightly more militant religion.
The only downside? After 3 hours, the abundance of wah & phased guitars began to take its toll on the eardrums, which are still ringing a bit today. However that's a minor price to pay for finally seeing the Cure as they should be.
Dinner beforehand at the MarketTown food court was marred only by Asagao Sushi's inability to get my sister's dinner order right & their refusal to understand the word 'refund'. It was amazing how fast they could cook the right meal when I stood at their counter though...
And now for something completely different ~ The WWF... Wildlife Wrestling Federation
