Rain Of Thought
Jul. 9th, 2007 10:46 pmA weekend that, on balance, was a good one.
I have the bit between my teeth again to finish the final edit on the novel I wrote with an expatriate friend about a decade ago & spent Saturday night trimming & rewiring text & rewriting jokes to bring them up to date. Before I knew it, it was 2am on Sunday morning... I'm starting to enjoy this, although there's a lot of work still to be done.
Sunday was the first rehearsal for the pop project ~ which differs from the Multi-String Army only by the subtraction of one guitarist & the Stickist, with the addition of a singer/songwriter. Feeling our way into arrangements of some songs, some instrumental pieces, both old & older (some of the songs have been kicking around in my brain for nearly 20 years!!). Probably a good start, though I can't help feeling a bit impatient to get this one going. I can hear the band arrangements in my head & look forward to hearing them in a studio.
A mixed result day today: Bad breakfast & worse coffee at a cafe in the local megamall, a little shopping around (finding about half the things I actually wanted), better coffee at my local on the way home & an evening of Hamish Macbeth, with subtitles on for the benefit of SarinG.
And so, to work tomorrow, to see what havoc has been wreaked in my 2 day absence. I shudder to think...
