Thank God It's (My) Friday

I never want to see another allen key in my life...

Those stupid little hexagonal bent bits of metal you get with kit-box furniture these days, which are supposed to tighten the screws that hold your table/chair/house together... Are they a leftover from Torquemada's toolbox??!!

And as for the rest of the kit ~ screws that don't screw, plastic screw covers that don't cover, "precision" drilled holes in components that plainly aren't & above all... heat-sealed padding that sticks to the furniture & is a real bugger to remove.

I've now worked 2 days with the 'other' manager ~ the son of the owner. A little nuggety bloke with thinning hair, who's 29 but looks older than me. Yesterday, when I took a break after hauling boxes & bits all over the warehouse/carpark, he found me sitting down & said he "doesn't like to see that kind of thing"... My caution circuits cut off my immediate retort of "Well, I don't like seeing stupid mummy's boys with Little Man Syndrome, but I guess we all have to see unpleasant things from time to time"

I've decided to ignore my usual wait & see approach & just hate him now ~ it'll save time in the long run.
