Meetings, Meetings, Meatings
Oct. 22nd, 2006 10:10 pmI'm getting used to sweeping up the debris from a good weekend here at the 'Manor.
Friday saw me at the Manly Boatshed, meeting up with a bloke I'd traded & shared 'blog repartee with... & a few incidental weirdos such as only Manly can provide. All with a funk/blues soundtrack by an extremely capable band, the name of which is unclear, 'cause they apparently keep changing it... that's rock'n'roll - you're only as good as your last gig & if it was a shocker, just change the band name...
Saturday was shopping day - re-stocking, party supplies, petrol & a firewire recording thingy (technical!!) that lets me plug a guitar into the computer & record stuff (technical!!!!).
That evening, WaitingManor was host to new & newer friends, the largest pork leg I've ever seen, more vegetables than Flemington Market, chocolate, caramel slice, cheesecake & port-infused cheddar. Only a fraction of which was eaten (not the friends...). If anyone would like to help me clear the fridge & keep my waistline, applications for dinners &/or care packages can be left below (again... not the friends).
Today was spent sleeping in & then rushing over to Glebe to supervise the sound for filming part of the TV pilot DaylanMusic has been soundtracking (technical!!!!!). A lot of fun, but if I ever hear the song we were filming ever again... 6 hours filming for a 3 minute pop song!! Ah well, that's showbiz - apparently.
Home to a pork & veg dinner (of course), the remains of a bottle of red & then let lethargy dictate the night.
