waitingman: (Telecaster)
Well, I did see the sun for about 5 minutes today...

Unfortunately, it was when I was sitting at my local cafe, waiting for breakfast. By the time I reached Redfern for the garden relocation working bee, the clouds were back & watering us with varying degrees of determination. Final score ~ Concrete Balcony: 0 plants Glass table top: minus 1 (glass shards: lots!!! including the one in my right middle finger that won't come out) Soggy, dirty & bedraggled workers: 4.

Then off to the Outhouse studio to record demo tracks of a tune I've called Middle Eastern Suburbs, for the simple reason that it has a vague arabic flavour & it was written in Matraville. First ever use of the new djembe & first time ever recording a percussion track for me. Verdict ~ As a percussionist, I'm a pretty good guitar player, but give me time... & rhythm... Kick drum sounds were created by standing in front of a microphone & gulping (& then a lot of studio jimcrackery). Bass & vocal parts to be arranged tomorrow night in Balmain.

All in all, a productive day ~ must be why I'm hungry. The kitchen calls...
