waitingman: (baby bottle wine)
This has been & promises to be, one of those strange weeks.

I find it rather concerning that the drive down from Byron has had such lasting repercussions vis-a-vis my alert status during a normal day. Sure, Tuesday was a bit shaky, but I expected that... being the day after an 11 hour shift in the saddle, so to speak... but to have the effects continue through the rest of the week simply due to a couple of late nights of emergency music-making, is a real cause for concern.

I'm a lead guitarist fergodssake... surely I'm made of tougher stuff than that!!??

To be feeling like everything important is happening whilst swimming through a pool of treacle is surely not a good thing. But at least it seems to be slowing down the important stuff enough for me to get a handle on what's actually occurring & to make appropriate arrangements &/or responses.

If I felt better about being so removed from "reality", I'd swear I'd (unknowingly) ingested the best acid of my life during my brief stopover in Nimbin last Sunday. Unfortunately, all I remember from that visit is a bundle of architectural plans, a powerpoint presentation about a 21st century commune & a lot of windy roads all the way to a cow-themed coffee shop, where I distinctly remember asking for a macchiato & receiving the local bastardised version of a latte instead... So now I'm a coffee snob, as well as an acid casualty!!

Fortunately, a musical weekend is planned. Let's hope the effects last a little longer...

"Friday I've got nothing on my mind..."
