Random blasts from the recent past.
Memorable events from the weekend - a Joshua rehearsal at WaitingManor on Saturday... notable for 2 things. 1: the other 2/3s of the band didn't get as wasted as usual, so some good work was done. 2: in anticipation of the usual tedious/testy experience, the first bottle of red wine was opened 30 seconds after their arrival - with the result that, by the time they left, I was not entirely sober & later discovered that, having closed my bedroom door against the illicit smoke emanating from the lounge/rehearsal room, I'd somehow managed to lock myself out of my bedroom... so ended up spending the night on my couch - which I now know is very comfortable... before breaking into the bedroom at about 7.30am with the aid of an appropriate kitchen implement. Useful results of a varied past... no, I've never locked myself out of a bedroom before - occupied or unoccupied, before you ask!!
Especially my own!! The fact that I've also had a painfully stiff neck for 3 days now is, I'm sure, totally unrelated. I paid a lot of money for that couch!!!
A couple of "getting to know you" sessions with a talented pianist/singer, involving most of my guitar arsenal, a piano, red wine, Guinness, pub steaks & a lot more personal information than I usually divulge at such early stages. Hmmm...
A brief visit between engagements from Reynardo tonight, involving a stir fry, red wine, chocolate & Tears For Fears... I keep forgetting her chilli tolerance is lower than mine. At least I remembered about the crustaceans though.
Oh... & an argument at work between my GM & I that could have been a lot worse, if not for my recent life-balance redressing incident... thanks to which the GM still has his front teeth &, therefore, I still have a job.
