Stunt Guitar Hero

Just returned from seeing Adrian Belew at Selina's - one of three shows he's doing/done in Sydney, but the only one I could get to, thanks to the usual crowded schedule & my inability to say "nnoookay" to people I care for. For those unfamiliar, Adrian is not only one of the most versatile & in-demand session guitarists in the world, but is also the lead vocalist for King Crimson, a band of which I'm just a little fond. I hung around after the gig & managed to get an LP cover of his first solo album (1982!!) signed, as well as a King Crimson CD cover for my foil - who managed to see AB at a suburban RSL club on Friday night. HE managed to get a conversation & a photo opportunity with our mutual guitar hero, but I'm not jealous... no, not a bit... no, no... LUCKY BASTARD!!!!!!!!!!
He's heading to Melbourne soon - & for those of you with a Gothic persuasion, he has played with both Tool & NIN... Expect to hear an electric guitar make sounds you didn't think were possible - & maybe some that shouldn't be...
Earlier this evening, I caught a gig by erstwhile bandmates Jaqi'n'Eugene - collectively known as Siren, in Surry Hills & was impressed by how much better they get every time I see them. They both tell me they're looking for a rhythm section, I'm beginning to think they don't really need one...
And now, to bed... tomorrow, to work & then, a wedding...
