Still Falls The Rain

Gemma & I had the first of our 'public rehearsals' last night at the Excelsior in front of about 8 people, most of whom were also performing. I must say that, even though I completely stuffed up the introduction to one song & glibly started again, we went quite well & were received in kind - the best praise coming from the sound engineer, who has to put up with amateur hour every week, so I took his compliment as genuine... didn't seem like the kind of guy to call a spade an ingeniously designed & manufactured digging implement if it was really just a f***ing shovel.

Otherwise, all's quiet on the Northern Front. Teething problems at the new offices, but at least I'm starting to get some actual work to do... & getting it done as well - wonders will never cease.
