waitingman: (fender neck)
I'd like to see any of the Tuesday trivia crowd tackle this one... )

Thank you Sandypaw for a bit of a brain-stretch.

Well, gig done, half an hour played, another gig offered to us by the organiser just after we finished our first song... then another at the end of our set, then another in 4 weeks time at the same venue.

Nothing to get too excited about - they're really just songwriter nights - strictly amateur hour, but it's gotta be more fun rehearsing on stage than in a loungeroom... I suppose it depends whose loungeroom it is... Lots of positive feedback from organisers & participants, but I'll feel better when we get some 'proper' gigs - We both knew there were mistakes made that could have been avoided, so it would be good to get some unbiased & less 'supportive' comments that acknowledge the f**kups but are still objective.

Not a bad end to a night that began badly - I turned up early to the club I'd been told we were playing, only to have the staff know nothing about it. A little intuition & local knowledge led me to another venue about 3 minutes drive away, that turned out to be the right one & a couple of phone calls later, I had Gemma & our audient on the right track - a tennis centre down the road. Nice room, but surrounded by tennis courts... not exactly rock'n'roll...
