So, another 12 hour day - travel time inclusive...

With a busy end-of-month coming up, in terms of gigs (Sydney Journalists be warned - a rent-a-crowd e-mail is coming very soon...), I just don't have the time, patience, or will to devote half my day to this shit. This morning I sat in my little cubicle (shades of 'Office Space' here...), listening to the GM instructing the new member of the sales team to get me to do most of his job for him, but to make sure I gave the relevant work to him (the new guy), because I apparently take days to tell anybody anything important & often don't tell anyone anything at all (Hey!! I'm right here, you fuckwit!!)... Now, what I'd like to know is - if that's the case & I'm so untrustworthy & uncommunicative - WHY AM I DOING ALL THE WORK ON THE GM'S CLIENT LIST, MAKING THE SALES & NOT GETTING ANY COMMISSION, RECOGNITION, OR REMUNERATION FOR ALL THE EXTRA F@#*ING WORK I DO AT THE EXPENSE OF MY OWN CLIENT BASE!!! Who are now apparently complaining to the GM that I don't get back to them quick enough... My name is, if not mud, then certainly Yossarian & I know how he felt.

Dilemma: I want to find a music job in my local area, that doesn't require 6 day weeks & is just enough of a no-brainer to allow me creative thinking time, but isn't boring enough to drive me to tears. Trouble is, as the heading suggests, these jobs don't pay well & I've become very attached to my current salary... It now becomes a question of what am I prepared to go without to save both my soul & my sanity??

So, a fair perusal of mycareer.com & seek.com is called for. In between trying to find a rehearsal studio for next Tuesday night.
