Going Under

Much as I like the various road tunnels we've dug, delved & dredged out around this town, I hate the tolls that go with them. I especially hated the tolls that went up before the tunnel even opened... yes Cross City Tunnel I'm talking about you... I also dislike the design & construction shortcuts the various private companies made, both in their original proposals & then during construction, just to make their bottom line look better ~ resulting in poor ventilation, or worse, a tunnel that can't handle the volume of traffic it's meant to alleviate in the first place... yes M5 East Tunnel I'm talking about you... And Lane Cove Tunnel, don't think I've forgotten about the block of flats you destroyed either...

So this news comes as both no surprise to me & a Simpsons-like Ha Ha!! to our privatisation-obsessed State gov't.

Edit: And while I'm perusing the electronic presses... I Can Has Copperhead?. Proof that even the most domestic of cats will still go a-hunting...
