Well, that was fun!!

In fact, tonight's concert by the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra & Choir was a LOT more fun than I thought it would be, given that the programme was Christmas music. I'm not a religious person plus I was in choirs for a few years & have avoided them ever since, but there were some musical & choral moments tonight which took me to great heights. The playing was superb, the singers spot-on... the venue was a bit weird ~ the school chapel at Knox Grammar School on the leafy North Shore of Sydney, but the acoustics were well-suited even if the pews were a bit unyielding.

My thanks to Reynardo for the invitation, the ticket & the driving... to Da Norvegicus & also to Rey's parents for good company & for dinner.

Now, I'm off to Google a couple of 17th century composers...

Damn. Now it's in my ears as well. Cleo Laine and (i think) John Sangster did a great version many years ago

17th Century, huh - which ones? Enquiring minds, and all that...

Von Biber for one... and another whose name escapes me, but Rey should still have the programme.
