Four Day Rider

Where to begin...
Being M.C. at Wafflers on Friday night & asking all the speakers 'When was the last time you said "Oh god, I hope nobody saw that?!"'. Chaired by Reynardo, a good night.
Deciding a mental health day was the easiest way to deal with various Saturday commitments, which included playing guitar at a Pagan wedding in windswept Centennial Park. The bride & groom were a transsexual & an artist with MS. A wonderful couple, though. Love finds a way.
Still had to turn up at work to open the joint in the morning, again... Plus ca change...
Saturday is shopping day. Is everybody happy? With SarinG as a willing accomplice, I came home laden with various possessions, before we headed over the bridge for UnknownB's housewarming. In the company of Roslyn & a bunch of other LJ people whose usernames I've forgotten (sorry guys!), the night was brought to a premature end by SG's night job calling her in for a midnight-to-dawn shift. Otherwise, a night of fun... in space.
Collected an almost comatose SG on Sunday morning & we did battle with the road closures & runners for the Sydney Marathon, before deciding that breakfast at a new favourite cafe in Rozelle was the best option ~ at the end of which I got a call from "MD"/CN saying he was stuck in traffic & could I go & open the shop. For those of you not from Sydney, Rozelle is nowhere near Brookvale. Truth be told (it wasn't), I was probably further away from the warehouse than "MD"/CN was when he called me. Despite this & the best ovine efforts of Sydney's Sunday drivers, I managed to get to Brookvale half an hour before "MD"/CN did... & ended up staying there for nearly 2 hours. Plus ca change...
A lazy, yet busy & productive afternoon at WaitingManor, then we collected my sister & went to see Stardust, which the film critic at the SMH didn't like, but we did!
Monday is sleep-in day. Is everybody happy? I certainly was. A day of being places, buying things & having a job interview cancelled ~ fortunately before I arrived in Rozelle for it. Speaking of which, the theme for the whole 4 days seems to have been circles. Driving in them, walking in them... I've been like a top, never travelling in a straight line when a lot of spinning will do.
Then Tori Amos at the Opera House last night. I haven't been to the Concert Hall for a looong time & had forgotten 2 things ~ how small it is & how good the sound is, compared to other places the same size. Hadn't seen Tori in a while either & haven't paid much attention to the last couple of albums, so I only knew about 2/3s of the set, but it was a darned impressive show. The tour t-shirt has to be seen to be believed... I'll do a photo post later~ as I'd also promised to show you the Voodoo knifeblock.
Now, back to work for a rest!
