Who took the sunshine away??

Finally, a day off in which to do very little other than lie in the sun & darken my alabaster compexion... so, of course, I wake at 10.30 this morning & it's cloudy as the area around Mt St Helens. Then it starts to rain.

Nobody in Sydney could deny that we need all the rain we can get, so mustn't grumble... but if tomorrow dawns sunny & bright, I'll be less than impressed. (To the tune of 'That's Amore'..."What's the nice sunny day after 2 days of rain? That's a Monday")

So, if I couldn't lie around in the sun, I figured I could just lie around anyway. Got up every few hours to potter about the house, then somehow just found myself back in bed with Tery Pratchett in hand for a while, then the eyes would droop & all of a sudden, it's an hour or so later. Till, finally it's about 5 o'clock & time for me to head for Berowra & catch up with Coralie. An early dinner, a couple of drinks & back home by about 9ish - check the cricket score, watch a Sting DVD & I'm thinking about bed again.

Saturday, by contrast, was a full day. Awoke at 5.30am, against my better judgment, but the body had decided that was all the sleep I was getting - then housework & maintenance, 'til heading off to Rose Bay for a few hours constitutional along Bondi Promenade with Liz, then off to Lane Cove to run an errand for an old friend, catch up with Joshua, back home, get changed, then off to dinner back in Bondi with Liz & our new friend Michiko. After a relatively sunny & warmish afternoon, the strong winds at Bondi in the evening were a bit of a surprise. Certainly not refreshing sea breezes... & way beyond brisk or bracing. Home by about 2am.

P.S. Stuart has decided we ARE going to the reunion after all. It's some time in early November - not at the school as suspected, but in some yuppy bar owned or operated by one of my esteemed alumni. I'm DEFINITELY not wearing a suit then...
