waitingmanNew toy Saturday... with varying results.
New larger memory card for the camera. Result: lots of photos - very happy!!
New whizzbang LCD touchscreen, macro-programmable, multi-device remote control. Meant to replace increasing number of remotes in the 'Manor's loungeroom (they appear to be breeding!!). Result: Lack of some basic functions for units, instructions in broken (smashed!!) English, very short on actual instruction, codes that should do stuff... but don't, indignant conversations with smarmy salespeople, telephone number for technical support... available only from Monday to Friday. ggnnggnnggrrrrrr...
DVD of latest D. Cronenberg film A History of Violence. Result: Great film!! LOTS of extras - possibly more than you need if you're not a film student...

Date: 2006-11-05 01:50 am (UTC)We have a "universal" remote, ostensibly to replace the broken Vieo remote. It's never properly worked. It doesn't have all the functions we want, half of the functions are available only if we sacrifice the other half, and most importantly of all, we can't change the Video clock, which is most annoying now that Daylight Savings is back on us.
