Rhetorical Question
Why does doing the uncomfortable, but necessary right thing by your fellow humans leave such a lingering, bitter aftertaste - like you've done something wrong??
Just wondering...

I screwed up at least 3 really good relationships which needed to end but I didn't know how to by saying "It's not working, I'd be happy to be your friend". I didn't know how to do that without hurting the person, so tried other, really stupid ways to do it instead (like sleeping with someone else) and then was surprised when I'd made things worse.
If it's any help, I still consider you my best friend.
