New Moon... perfect!!

Increasing cloud cover & a bone-chilling wind... not so much





We'll try a different location next month...

Unfortunately I don’t see wind and mountains…

Hard to see wind... but those clouds were moving pretty fast - this was a 30-second exposure

And none of Australia's mountains are tall enough to be an impediment to star-gazing!!

It is still so weird to me to see completely different arrangements of stars from the ones I'm used to. I need to visit the southern hemisphere!

We also have 2 small galaxies you can see when the Milky Way 'rises' - they're called the Magellanic Clouds & they're only visible down here...

And wait 'til you see what a full moon looks like 'Down Under'!!
