Probably the last photo of Surfin' Bird aka Bruce ~ our time-share baby Grey Butcherbird

He'd been showing signs of greater independence, finding his own food in the bark of trees & catching insects. Last Saturday morning, he squawked for one last a la carte meal from us & hasn't been seen since...

The odds are good that he's alive & just did what birds do... find a territory, find a mate, settle down, have some kids... Nature's way for all of us really

But we miss him... come & see us some time, Bruce... there'll always be mince in the fridge for you!!
