Pimp My Gig!!
Wimsey my beloved Telecaster is feeling neglected.
This Friday night at the Hopetoun hotel, I'll be doing another acoustic gig with my 2 main acoustic guitars, a percussionist & ZenSiren's unique pastiche of torch, pop, jazz & cabaret. We're on first ~ some time around 8 or 8.30... not sure yet. Come & see what we can do to an assortment of originals & covers. Audience participation in the show is highly likely, whether you want to or not!
Feeling pretty good about this one. Having rehearsed with the percussionist on Monday & Tuesday evenings, I'm impressed with how quickly she picked up on the songs & what she plays on them. The only annoying thing was breaking strings on both acoustics last night at the start of rehearsal ~ something I never do!! Fortunately, ZenSiren has a pretty serviceable nylon string acoustic as room decoration, so the show could go on
I only hope I can remember everything over the next 2 nights whilst seeing Bjork & The Police. There may well be an impromptu mash-up of 'It's Oh So Quiet, Roxanne' on Friday...
And later... My foil just sent me an e-mail with this link in it. I'd like to see some people on Friday doing their best impersonation of that bird!!
