Recovery
Recovering from... a head cold, a milestone birthday with multiple celebrations, the wet'n'wild'n'working week, another fruitful session with the burgeoning string army.
& I've been spending most of today tidying the Manor in order to be able to walk around it without knocking over glasses, guitars, CDs, DVDs, bottles etc...
Dinner with SarinG, Somnistra & BitBit at Sushi Bar Rashai on Tuesday night, prior to the latter 2 flying back to Japan on Thursday morning. Dinner with SarinG down in Manly on Thursday night, at the imaginitively titled Manly Italian Restaurant, where they don't know the meaning of 'small portions'. An extended family gathering at WaitingManor on Friday night, when my recently depleted cellar received further contributions... told you I'm easy to buy presents for!!
A stay-at-home pizza & drinks evening on Saturday with SarinG & Maelefic, during which the latter saw Children Of Men for the first time. Can't recommend that film highly enough... Maelefic then formed part of the multi-stringed army on Sunday afternoon. The promised drummer-of-renown was a last-minute no-show due to a better offer, but my namesake who plays the Stick was here, along with my Foil & an afternoon of time signature experimentation was enjoyed by all... of the players anyway. Coming soon ~ a 5-string bass player to add to the three 6 & 12-string guitars, the 10-string Stick... what we really need now is a concert harpist!!
Then ~ a second sitting at Sushi Bar Rashai with my sister last night & a possible encore viewing of Pirates... III tonight.
And now... there are bills to pay, car maintenance chores... I'm going back to work for a rest.
