I would love to have one good book in me. I'm hoping that it's still in there somewhere; if my NaNoWriMo attempts are any indication, it sure hasn't come out yet. Maybe I'm doing what your ex-favorite author did, but in reverse: get the crappy ones out first, and THEN hit them with the winner. Yes. I should convince myself that that's what is happening.
